My Loved Ones text messages
- Program: My Loved Ones by Acme Longterm sends family caregivers who sign up: a reply to their sign-up text, a text to say they are set up, a short daily text, and replies they ask for.
- Signing up: you sign up by texting the one-time join phrase you were given (JOIN plus 8 characters) from your own phone to our number. We reply to say we got the request, and updates start only after the family member who invited you confirms it is you and the approval step is complete. The approval step is the permission of the person you care for, or their representative, to share the approximate area of their room with you. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Reply HELP for help. Not an alert or emergency system.
- Frequency: about 1 text a day, once confirmed and approved, with the approximate area of your loved one's room, or a note that the area can't be shown, plus a reply to say we got the request, a text to say you are set up, a reply if we can't match a join phrase, a confirmation if you reply STOP, and any other replies you ask for. Message frequency varies.
- Not encrypted: Texts are not encrypted, so others may be able to read them.
- Cost: Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier.
- Stop: reply STOP to any message to stop all texts. We send one confirmation and no further texts. Your carrier may also send its own standard reply to STOP, START, UNSTOP or HELP.
- Help: reply HELP, or email [email protected].
- Carriers: mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Privacy: see our Privacy Policy. We do not share your mobile number with third parties for marketing.
Not an emergency service
My Loved Ones gives approximate, general updates only. It is not a medical device and not an alert or emergency system. Texts can be delayed or fail. In an emergency, call 911.
Using the service
Use the service only with a mobile number that belongs to you. Do not sign up someone else's number. We may stop sending texts to a number if we believe it has changed hands or is being misused.
Availability
My Loved Ones is in early testing. We provide it as is and may change or stop it at any time.
